Send Us Your Flowers

After your event, carefully package your fresh flowers and ship them to our studio. We recommend overnight air shipping, Monday through Thursday, to minimize transit time and help protect the freshness of your blooms.

Sending dried or artificial flowers? You can ship them at any speed that works for you, since they don't require the same time-sensitive handling as fresh flowers.

Purchasing a bouquet recreation? You can skip this step entirely! We'll create your custom floral arrangement without needing you to ship us your original flowers.

Professional Drying & Preservation

Each flower is carefully inspected and placed in a specialized drying medium to remove moisture while preserving its shape and details. The drying process typically takes 4–6 weeks, depending on the type of flower. Proper drying is essential because any remaining moisture can affect the quality and longevity of your finished keepsake.

Design & Layout Approval

Once your flowers are fully dried, the design process begins. Each flower is carefully arranged to create a beautiful, balanced composition within your selected piece.

We'll send you a photo of your design layout for approval before moving on to resin casting. This is your opportunity to review the arrangement before it becomes permanently preserved.

The Pour & Cure

After you approve your design, your flowers are carefully encased in high-quality resin. Resin must be mixed precisely and poured in thin layers, with adequate curing time between pours. This helps manage heat buildup and protect the delicate flowers.

Depending on the size and complexity of your piece, multiple pours and curing stages may be required. Once the resin has fully cured, each piece is removed from its mold, polished, and finished by hand.

Packaged and shipped

Once your keepsakes are complete, each piece is carefully inspected, polished, and securely packaged to help protect it during transit. Your finished pieces are then shipped directly to you, ready to display or gift.

Please allow 3–12 months for completion. Turnaround times vary depending on the season, current order volume, and the complexity of your design. Summer is our busiest season due to the high volume of wedding flowers we receive, so orders during this time may take longer.

Floral preservation is a multi-stage process that requires patience and careful attention to detail. Flowers must dry completely, and resin must be poured in thin layers with adequate curing time between each pour. These steps cannot be rushed without risking the quality of your keepsake.

Flower Shipping & Packing Instructions

Before you pack

The condition of your flowers when they arrive at Kazzy Studio plays an important role in the final preservation results. Fresh flowers begin to change as soon as they are cut, and heat, dehydration, bruising, and handling can all affect how they preserve.

While we take great care to preserve your flowers, a few simple steps before shipping can help protect your bouquet and give it the best possible chance of preserving beautifully.

An Important Note About Preservation Results

Floral preservation begins with the condition of the flowers we receive. Even flowers that appear beautiful and healthy may have experienced heat, dehydration, bruising, or other stress before arriving at our studio.

Flowers that arrive wilted, browned, bruised, or heat-damaged may experience additional color changes, translucency, or petal loss during drying and preservation. Some changes may not become visible until the flowers are dried.

We carefully select the best blooms available for your design, but natural flowers are unpredictable, and their original appearance cannot always be maintained exactly.

The fresher and better cared for your flowers are when they arrive, the better the opportunity to preserve their beauty.

Keep Your Bouquet Hydrated

Continue keeping your bouquet in fresh water until you are ready to prepare it for shipping.

Before packing, trim approximately ½ inch from the bottom of the stems at a diagonal and place them back in fresh water if you are not shipping immediately. Keep the stems as long as possible.

When preparing your bouquet for shipment, you may use floral water tubes or a moist paper towel secured around the stems inside a plastic bag. Keep the moisture contained around the stems and away from the flower heads.

Ship Your Flowers Promptly

The sooner your fresh flowers arrive at the studio, the better the opportunity to preserve them in their best possible condition.

  • Ship your bouquet as soon as possible after your event, ideally within 1–3 days.

  • We strongly recommend overnight shipping (Next Day Air) to minimize transit time.

  • Ship Monday through Thursday to help avoid weekend delays.

  • Avoid shipping on Fridays or Saturdays, when your bouquet may remain in transit over the weekend.

Please refer to our Shipping Your Flowers instructions for complete packaging and shipping directions. If your event takes place over a weekend and you are unsure when to ship, please contact us for guidance.

Consider a Toss Bouquet

Many couples choose to order a second bouquet specifically for tossing or use a bridesmaid's bouquet for this tradition. This helps protect your bridal bouquet from unnecessary handling, bruising, and potential damage during the celebration.

If preserving your original bouquet is important to you, keeping it separate from the toss can help maintain its condition.

Protect Your Flowers from Heat

eat can cause flowers to wilt, discolor, and deteriorate quickly.

  • Store your bouquet in a cool, air-conditioned environment.

  • Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, heaters, and warm vehicles.

  • Never leave your bouquet in a parked car, even for a short period.

Immediately After the Ceremony

After your photos and ceremony are complete, place your bouquet in fresh water as soon as possible.

  • Keep the stems submerged in clean water whenever your bouquet is not being used.

  • Avoid leaving flowers out of water for extended periods, especially during outdoor events, receptions, or travel.

  • Ask someone you trust to look after your bouquet if you will be busy celebrating.

Remove Items You Don't Want Preserved

Before shipping, let us know if there are any ribbons, charms, pins, or other sentimental items you do not want included in your resin piece. Remove any items you plan to keep separately.

If you have special requests regarding your bouquet or its contents, please contact us before shipping.

Shipping

STEP 1: Wrapping the Flowers

Use paper to protect the blooms. Loosely wrap your entire bouquet in dry tissue paper or brown packing paper to protect the petals during transit.

Keeping the stems hydrated? Floral water tubes or a moist paper towel wrapped around the stems and secured inside a plastic bag are acceptable. Make sure the moisture is contained around the stems only and cannot leak onto the flowers or inside the box.

Do not wrap the entire bouquet in plastic. Trapping moisture around the blooms can encourage mold and cause deterioration before your flowers arrive.

STEP 2: THE BOX

Cushion the bottom: Line the bottom of a sturdy shipping box with crumpled packing paper or tissue paper.

Position your bouquet: Place your paper-wrapped bouquet in the center of the box.

Secure the gaps: Fill all remaining space around and above the bouquet with additional crumpled paper. Your bouquet should not shift if the box is turned upside down.

STEP 3: LABELING

Please include your order information inside the box so we can identify your flowers when they arrive.

You can either:

  • Print your order receipt and place it inside the box, or

  • Write a note with your full name, order number, and email address.

Seal the outside of the box securely with packing tape.

STEP 4: SHIPPING

When to ship: Send your fresh flowers within 1–3 days after your event.

Shipping speed: We strongly recommend overnight shipping (Next Day Air) to minimize transit time and help preserve the condition of your flowers. Longer transit times increase the risk of wilting, mold, and deterioration.

Best shipping days: Ship Monday through Thursday to help avoid weekend delays. We do not recommend shipping on Fridays or Saturdays, as your flowers could remain in transit over the weekend.

Carrier: UPS or FedEx are recommended.

Delivery signature: Please do not require a signature for delivery. A signature requirement may delay delivery if no one is available to receive the package.

How will my flowers change during the drying process?

Nature is unpredictable! Flowers are organic materials, and their appearance can change during drying and preservation. Although we use professional techniques and carefully select the best blooms available, we cannot guarantee that flowers will retain their exact original color or appearance.

Here are some common changes you may notice:

  • White flowers: Often dry to ivory, cream, or light tan. Some white flowers may develop brown areas.

  • Red and purple flowers: Often deepen into rich burgundy, wine, or darker tones.

  • Yellow and pink flowers: May retain much of their vibrancy, but shades can become lighter, darker, or more muted.

  • Blue flowers: May retain their color well, although results vary by variety.

  • Delicate blooms: Flowers such as tulips, lilies, and orchids may become translucent or change shape during drying.

  • Greenery: Leaves and foliage may turn brown or become brittle during drying.

  • Bruised or damaged petals: Areas that were bruised, wilted, or damaged before or during shipping may become more noticeable after drying.

We offer color correction for eligible flowers to help improve their appearance. However, color correction cannot restore every flower to its original condition, and results will vary.

Why do flowers change color even when they look healthy?

Flowers begin aging from the moment they are cut, often before your florist even places an order. Many flowers are grown in other countries, where they are harvested, packaged, and shipped to the United States. They then travel to a floral wholesaler before reaching your florist.

By the time your bouquet reaches you, the flowers may already have traveled a considerable distance. From the florist's design process to transportation, handling, and your wedding day, flowers experience changes in temperature, humidity, moisture, and physical handling.

Flowers can look beautiful and healthy on the outside while still having experienced stress that affects how they preserve. Some changes may not become visible until the flowers are dried. Heat, dehydration, bruising, and the natural aging process can all influence the final result.

We carefully select the best blooms available from your bouquet, but we cannot control everything that happens to flowers before they arrive at our studio.

What is bouquet recreation, and how can it help?

Bouquet recreation is an alternative to sending us your original wedding bouquet. Instead, we source flowers and create a new arrangement inspired by your original bouquet.

Recreation allows us to purchase flowers specifically for your preservation project, cutting out additional steps in the traditional floral supply chain. This gives us more control over flower selection and allows us to choose blooms with preservation in mind.

While recreated flowers are still natural and may experience color changes during drying, this option can be helpful if your original bouquet has wilted, become damaged, or is no longer available.

Bouquet recreation is also an option to consider if the cost of overnight shipping makes sending your original bouquet impractical. Please note that recreation is an additional service and is an additional fee.

Can I use silk or artificial flowers instead?

Absolutely! Silk and artificial flowers are another option if you want your keepsake to closely reflect the appearance of your wedding-day bouquet.

Artificial flowers can be selected to match the colors, shapes, and overall style of your original arrangement. Because they do not wilt or undergo the same natural aging and drying processes as fresh flowers, they can provide a more consistent appearance.

If maintaining the look of your bouquet is your priority, artificial flowers may be an excellent alternative. They can also be shipped using standard shipping speeds, making them a convenient option if overnight shipping costs are too high.

What about succulents?

Succulents contain a high amount of moisture and generally cannot be successfully dried using our standard flower-drying process. They may shrink, discolor, or rot if placed in resin without being properly preserved.

To maintain the look of your original bouquet, we may be able to substitute high-quality faux greenery or artificial succulent elements in your design.

Please let us know if your bouquet contains succulents so we can discuss the best options for your keepsake.

What if my flowers arrive damaged?

We work with your flowers in the condition they arrive at our studio. If your bouquet arrives moldy, severely bruised, or significantly deteriorated, we will notify you as soon as possible.

Flowers may experience additional wilting, bruising, or deterioration during transit. Even with careful packaging and expedited shipping, we cannot guarantee that fresh flowers will arrive in perfect condition.

If your flowers are too damaged to achieve your desired result, we offer a bouquet recreation service for an additional fee. Alternatively, you can arrange to purchase replacement flowers from a local florist, and Kazzy Studio can pick them up for preservation, subject to availability and any applicable fees.

We will discuss your options with you before proceeding when significant damage affects your design.

What if my flowers are already dried?

We can work with dried flowers of various ages, provided they are in suitable condition for preservation. Please note that previously dried flowers may be more fragile and may have already experienced color changes or deterioration.

If you are sending dried flowers, you do not need to use overnight shipping. You can choose a shipping speed that works for your budget, provided the flowers are packaged securely.

How long does the whole process take?

The complete flower preservation process typically takes 3–12 months from the time we receive your flowers until your finished pieces ship.

Turnaround times depend on the season, current order volume, and the size and complexity of your selected design. Summer is our busiest season due to the high volume of wedding flowers we receive, so orders during peak wedding months may take longer.

Your flowers must first be dried completely, which typically takes 4–6 weeks depending on the flower varieties. After drying, the flowers are arranged for your approval and then carefully cast in resin.

Resin casting is a detailed process that involves mixing the resin precisely, pouring multiple thin layers, and allowing each layer to cure properly before adding the next. This helps manage heat buildup and protects the flowers and finished piece. The resin must then fully cure before the piece can be removed from its mold, polished, and finished.

Quality preservation cannot be rushed. Because every order is unique and production volume varies throughout the year, we cannot guarantee an exact completion date.

Thank you for your patience while we carefully transform your flowers into a meaningful keepsake.

Important Flower Preservation Information

How flowers naturally preserve

Every flower is unique and will respond differently to drying and preservation. While we take great care to preserve the beauty of your bouquet, preserved flowers will never look exactly as they did when fresh.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • Flower colors may become lighter, darker, or more muted during drying.

  • White flowers commonly dry to ivory, cream, or off-white shades and may develop brown areas.

  • Red and purple flowers often deepen into darker burgundy or wine tones.

  • Pink, yellow, and blue flowers may retain their color well, but results vary.

  • Delicate flowers may become translucent, change shape, or become more fragile.

  • Greenery may turn brown or become unsuitable for use. If necessary, it may be omitted or replaced with suitable faux greenery.

  • Natural petal bruising may appear as translucent or discolored areas in the finished resin.

  • Flowers that were already wilted, bruised, dehydrated, or damaged may show more noticeable changes after preservation.

  • Shipping can cause additional bruising or deterioration, even when flowers are packaged carefully.

We will always do our best to select the most suitable blooms for your design. However, we cannot guarantee the preservation of every individual flower.

Important information about your finished keepsake

Flower preservation is both an art and a natural process. Variations in color, texture, and appearance are expected and contribute to the uniqueness of each piece.

Please understand that:

  • Preserved flowers will not look identical to fresh flowers.

  • Some flowers may darken, become translucent, or change shape.

  • Certain flowers or foliage may not be suitable for use in your finished design.

  • Your finished piece may differ slightly from photographs of fresh flowers or examples shown on our website.

  • Each preservation piece is individually handcrafted, making every keepsake one of a kind.

Our goal is to create a beautiful piece that honors your memories while working with the natural characteristics of your flowers.

Handmade resin characteristics

Every resin piece is handcrafted through a multi-stage casting and finishing process. Minor variations may occur as part of handmade production.

Normal characteristics may include:

  • Small bubbles or dimples

  • Slight surface texture variations

  • Minor imperfections or variations in the resin

  • Subtle differences in clarity or appearance

  • Rustic variations in hand-applied gold or silver leaf edging

We take care throughout the pouring, curing, and finishing stages to achieve the best possible result. However, handmade resin pieces will not always have the perfectly uniform appearance of a mass-produced item.

Resin aging and care instructions

Epoxy resin is a durable plastic material, not glass. Over time, resin can develop a yellow or amber tint due to UV exposure, heat, and natural aging. Although we use high-quality resin designed to help slow this process, yellowing cannot be completely prevented.

To help keep your floral preservation looking its best:

  • Display your piece indoors and away from direct sunlight.

  • Avoid placing it near heaters or other high-heat sources.

  • Avoid extreme temperature fluctuations.

  • Keep it away from sharp objects that could scratch the surface.

  • Clean gently with a soft microfiber cloth and, if needed, a small amount of water.

  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, and rough cleaning materials.

Proper care can help maintain the appearance of your keepsake for many years.

By purchasing a flower preservation piece

By placing an order with Kazzy Studio, you acknowledge and understand that:

  • Flowers naturally change color and appearance during drying and preservation.

  • Preserved flowers will not look exactly as they did on your wedding day or when they were fresh.

  • Some translucency, bruising, discoloration, and natural imperfections may occur.

  • Flower condition, handling, shipping, and seasonal factors can influence the final result.

  • Some flowers or foliage may need to be omitted or substituted if they are unsuitable for preservation.

  • Handmade resin pieces may contain minor bubbles, dimples, texture variations, or other characteristics associated with the casting process.

  • Resin naturally ages and may yellow over time despite the use of UV-resistant materials.

  • Production typically takes 3–12 months, depending on the season, order volume, and design complexity.

These natural characteristics and variations are part of creating a unique floral keepsake and are not automatically considered defects.

We understand how meaningful your flowers are, and we treat each order with care and attention throughout the preservation process. Thank you for trusting Kazzy Studio with your memories.
